For those that are Scrabble-addicts should enjoy Words With Friends, a two-player crossword game that allows the user to compete online against random players or friends.
You can have 20 matches going on at once (or can you?) and there are built-in Twitter and Facebook links. You may note the pair of eyes in the upper right hand corner, which is the chat option for the game.
There is a free ad-supported version of Words With Friends, and an ad-free version for about $2.99.

A recent study from Stanford students that are iPhone users has stated that ten percent of them acknowledged full addiction to the Apple device. Only six percent said they are not addicted to it at all.
I have to admit that if you use as strong as word addiction in a survey, then you are probably going to get results like this. Perhaps we are addicted to our mobiles the way we are addicted to our computers. I know I couldn’t do my job without out them, but it’s not like it’s heroin to me.

The South Korean market is going to have a slim netbook known as the Netsee UNC-890.
The UNC-890 has an 8.9 inch widescreen LCD display with 1,024 x 600 resolution, 1GB of RAM, a 3-megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi connectivity, Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, and a 32GB SSD. It ways in at 920 grams, under an inch thin, and is available in white or red colors.
We don’t have a price just yet, and, as I mentioned earlier, it will be available in the South Korean market.

For those that want to a little more bling on their iPhone should enjoy Jade Polish Rainbow Case for the iPhone 3G and 3GS by Caze.
It may look like a regular iPhone Case, and yeah, it probably is. However, how many iPhone cases have 50 Swarovski crystals and different colors around the case. This case costs $39 and has a mirror-finish and anti-fingerprint screen protector.

The Chinese, ladies and gentlemen, are trying their level best to win the cell phone wars. And though their efforts aren’t necessarily as sophisticated as, say, the iPhone or the Nexus One, what they DO bring forth is downright amazing. And when the folks out at Chinavasion sent me a LevelUP Quad Band to review, I have to admit I was just stunned.
The LevelUP Quad Band boasts a whole lot of amazing features, including an FM radio, mobile internet, mobile email, a twelve megapixel camera (that’s not a typo, folks. TWELVE. But I’m told that the resolution is measured at 640×380, so that 12.1 stamped on the front may not be entirely accurate.), a video recorder, video player, audio player, audio recorder, ebook reader, Bluetooth connectivity, and then it starts to get weird.
This thing has an ANALOG TELEVISION built into it. On the right side of the unit, there’s an extendable antenna that will allow you to receive what few analog television signals are left. And, as to the reason that it’s called the LevelUP, it also boasts compatibility with Java programs including old eight-bit NES games.
Yes, if you’re a retro gamer, this is the cell phone solution you’ve been longing for. One one side, you have the standard QWERTY cell phone, but with one small ratcheting click, you can actually TURN THE CONTROLS AROUND a hundred and eighty degrees to reveal not only a set of controls more appropriate for gaming, but also a whole new set of menu options.
This may well be one of the most versatile phones I’ve ever seen. And while it may not have the sophisticated smoothness of an iPhone or a Nexus One, there’s no denying that it easily has the utility of either of those to match. There may not be a whole lot of apps, but there are plenty of mechanical solutions, and Chinavasion’s LevelUP is definitely a phone to consider.
The Good
Incredible variety of options
Features you’d never expect to see on a cell phone
The Bad
Analog television of only limited effectiveness
Score 9 / 10

If you have a HTC Touch Pro2 and are unhappy with the current Windows Mobile operating system, read on — A moddern by the name of sebbo90 has managed to port Ubuntu Linux onto the Touch Pro2. Now, normally when devices have operating systems ported to such devices they are sluggish but from the looks of the above video it looks to be running pretty damn smoothly, if you don’t plan on making any calls that is.
Apparently, all you need to do download a 200MB file, put it on your fun and run it and you’ll be good to go. However, if you plan on doing this, proceed at your own risk.

Currently, the only carrier we know of that has the Motorola BACKFLIP is AT&T. However, it was just made known that TELUS will be getting the device at some point in the near future. Why anyone would want a device with such a form factor is beyond me but to teach either own, I suppose.
Additionally, it was also announced that the DEXT will be making its way to Bell within the same time period.
Which one would you choose?

Back in January we gave you the first glimpse of the Case Mate Hug wireless iPhone charging system. We also told you that it would be made available in mid-February for around $90. Well, the wireless charging system has only just gone on sale for a bit higher price tag than previously mentioned, $99.99.
If you don’t remember the Hug allows you to just slide your iPhone 3G or 3GS into a case and then place it on a pad for some wireless charging. Just like every other wireless charging solution, the case is pretty intrusive and I couldn’t see myself sporting it 24/7. I’d much rather just plug my iPhone into the wall or my computer, but that’s just me.

Details are slim but a video of the fabled HTC Supersonic in action has just hit YouTube. Unfortunately the video does nothing more than show the device with the HTC boot up screen but whoever has said device took the liberty of turning it over and showing us that it is in fact the HTC Supersonic. In addition to that, he/she also lets us know that the device has a 4.1-inch screen, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, Android 2.1 with Sense UI and WiMAX connectivity.
From what I can make out in the video it looks to line up nicely with the render we saw back in January. Now we just need to find out if it’s going to feature WiMAX and we’ll be all set.

With the iPad, came this surge of the tablets, and one of the most inexpensive ones will be this Freescale.
Freescale’s 7-inch tablet was first brought on display at CES last January, and it is able to run on Android, Chromium OS, and Linux. Unfortunately, there isn’t much that we have on this guy, just a video after the jump.

In case you thought Mindstorms Lego Sets with their Bluetooth controllers were cool, then you should see this Hexapod under control by an iPhone.
This is a modded toy created by Robert Stephenson, who figured out a way to get the touchscreen and accelerometers to get this spider to do some pretty interesting things.
Once again, proof that there is an app for just about everything.

Tanja Shultz was once riding on a train, and there was a man sitting next to him who was blabbing his mouth off. I’ve ignored situations like this, but he wanted to do something about it.
So he worked with other researchers at Germany’s Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, in order to find a system that can convert mouth motions into synthesized speech. In other words, you can carry on cellular phone conversations in public without anyone hearing you, unless people can read lips.
As you can see in the picture, it takes quite a few wires to get it to work now. This method of electromyography is designed to detect facial movements while chatting, and these pulse are transmitted to a device to record and amplify them, then sending them along to a laptop via Bluetooth.
Well, we shall see if this technology improves, and then we’ll all be talking and not talking at the same time.

Dell has recently announced their Precision M4500. It is powered by an Intel Core i7-920XM Quad Core Extreme Edition and Nvidia Quadro FX GPU, and it has a 15.6 inch screen.
It has Gobi 2.0 mobile broadband support, 64GB SSD MiniCard, and weighs in at 6 pounds. According to Dell, this is “the most powerful 15.6 inch notebook available”. This means that it is expensive, and the basic model was $2,000. I can’t imagine what the higher-end model is.

Those that love March Madness should get a kick out of the CBS Sports NCAA March Madness On Demand App.
This year’s version allows the user to watch live games over a 3G connection, or Wi-Fi, which was so last year. From the Sweet Sixteen to the Final Four, this App has you covered.
A basic version is available for free, but it only has the scores, stats, brackets, as well as the basic tournament coverage. If you want the whole package, with the live videos, you’ll be paying $9.99.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that one iPad ad that looks much better in slow motion has aired multiple times, and HP has put out an ad for their Slate that looks a lot like it.
After all, it follows the same fast cut, fast pace format of the Apple one, but there is a one major difference. That HP can run flash. This is why Steve Ballmer likes it, and I’m not looking forward to the HP Slate/iPad wars.
